I've been working on a rough layout for my future portfolio. I decided to make a small landscape book to see the possibilities of the layout, and to help me decide which pieces to include. For the finished portfolio, I'd like to make the binding from wood, and possibly wood-burn a design into the cover. I've gotten some great feedback on it so far, and subsequently have many ideas on how to improve it. I also might create some mini-bound books, much like this first draft, to use as leave-behinds or self-promo pieces. What do you think?

This week I received the proof copy of my coloring book! I'm really quite happy with the quality of the book from CreateSpace. The cover has crisp colors and is nice and glossy. The inside pages have crisp lines, and I like the slight tooth of the paper, which will work nicely for a coloring book. I drew the animals and creatures in black ink, and I think this translated well to the final printed product. The book even has its own ISBN number, how cool is that?
The coloring book ended up being 44 pages, with 20 different animals, characters and monsters. This Crazy Creatures Coloring Book is now available for sale from CreateSpace, as well as Amazon! I'd love if you'd check out the product pages, and click the "like" button near the top on the Amazon page. I'm also planning on having some copies available in my online shop, The Inky Octopus. Overall, I'd highly recommend CreateSpace for your own book project! |
