I had fun creating some new miniature comics for the River Des Press Expo this month. These tiny comic books measure about 4.25 by 5.5", and feature three silly stories. I originally created The Terrified Pterodactyl comic back in 2011, and I decided to print a few more copies this year. The Amethyst Ant and The Evil Weevil are two new stories. Each of these miniature comics was hand-bound, and there are limited copies available in my shop!
*The Amethyst Ant* This little ant story follows a curious ant who discovers an amethyst. When the amethyst disappears, his friends must help him rescue it! *The Terrified Pterodactyl* The narrative of this little dinosaur book follows a frightened pterodactyl who has just hatched and finds himself alone in the world. When he learns to fly, he at first enjoys his new activity. However, he soon learns that he is frightened of some of the new things he discovers! *The Evil Weevil* This silly little comic follows a sly weevil and his destructive journey throughout a tree. When the weevil wakes for the day, the other animals better watch out! Here is the latest strip of Bird H. Bird. You can also see a couple of pictures of the in-progress artwork - taken while I was working with the watercolor.
The third strip of Bird H. Bird has been published. You can see all of the pages here, as well as the work from the other Twisted Loop Comics artists!
I've been working on a new comic recently titled The Adventures of Bird H. Bird. It's part of a group of comics, Twisted Loop Comics. We currently have a website up and running with the current work, and we're working towards publishing a book of all the pieces. Check out the current selection of work, and learn more about the participating artists here.
