Throughout this book, follow the story of a little fish and his daily journey through a stream. Meet all of the other creatures the fish encounters on his trip! This illustrated story book allows a young reader to engage with a narrative and come up with his or her own words while looking through the pages. View this book in my shop, and on Amazon!
I wanted to share a few photos of my newest story book, A Swim in the River. This book was commissioned by my aunt for her grandson - how fun! I enjoyed creating a picture book featuring life within a river, through watercolor illustrations.

My new Octopus Coloring Book! The second book in my collection of coloring books. (You can see the first here.) It will be available from The Inky Octopus and Amazon soon!
Update: you can now find the Octopus Coloring Book on Amazon and The Inky Octopus! This week I received the proof copy of my coloring book! I'm really quite happy with the quality of the book from CreateSpace. The cover has crisp colors and is nice and glossy. The inside pages have crisp lines, and I like the slight tooth of the paper, which will work nicely for a coloring book. I drew the animals and creatures in black ink, and I think this translated well to the final printed product. The book even has its own ISBN number, how cool is that?
The coloring book ended up being 44 pages, with 20 different animals, characters and monsters. This Crazy Creatures Coloring Book is now available for sale from CreateSpace, as well as Amazon! I'd love if you'd check out the product pages, and click the "like" button near the top on the Amazon page. I'm also planning on having some copies available in my online shop, The Inky Octopus. Overall, I'd highly recommend CreateSpace for your own book project! This week I've been having fun working on illustrating a coloring book. I decided to include some of my favorite characters, redrawing them in black-and-white line work. As I was looking for a place to publish this book, I came across the site CreateSpace. I've never used this company before, but it seems neat because it's linked to Amazon and your book can even be sold on Amazon. Have you tried CreateSpace?
I'm also trying to decide which of my characters to use for the front cover of the coloring book. Which page do you like the best? |
