I had such fun at Neiman Marcus this past weekend! Guests were invited to bring along their dogs to the CUSP event on Saturday, and I had the opportunity to do some marker sketches of them. Here are a few of the sweet dogs I met.
Two of my watercolor illustrations will be featured in the upcoming show, Shades of Green, at Soulard Art Market! The show will take place from March 14 - April 4, and there will be a free opening reception on March 14 from 7-10 pm.
I'm excited to be attend two upcoming art events: The Krampus Art Show & Festival, and Rag Dolls, Robots & Rocketships.
The Krampus Art Show & Festival at the Koken Art Factory is this weekend, Friday & Saturday night (6 pm - 1 am both nights). Koken will embrace the creepy, frightening and theatrical environment that represents the traditional European Christmas fairytale character, Krampus. Guests are encouraged to dress for the theme and to participate in the costume contest by wearing extravagant costumes. With wall to wall art, devilish entertainment, and live art, guests will be introduced to a new view of Christmas. Admission: $5 , but patrons that bring an unwrapped toy to donate to Toys for Tots, will get free admission to the show! RSVP to the Facebook event here.
Rag Dolls, Robots & Rocketships is a month-long exhibition at the Foundry Art Centre. The exhibition runs Friday, December 6, 2013 – Friday, January 17, 2014. The opening reception is Friday, December 13, 2013 from 6-8 pm. The public can enjoy free food & drink along with artful conversation and observation. The artist studios on the second level of the Foundry Art Centre will also be open to the public for visiting. Admission, as always, is free. RSVP to the Facebook event here.

This month some of my artwork will be displayed in the Black Bear Bakery on Cherokee. Check out a few of my pieces in the front room, as well as upstairs. The bakery has a nice selection of snacks, bread and coffee, and the installation will be up through the end of October. Black Bear Bakery is located at 2639 Cherokee Street, and is open Tuesday - Saturday, 8am - 3pm.
The past week I've been working on my display for the upcoming show, TRANSLATIONS. I found a wild and bright tablecloth, and I've been experimenting with different ways to prop up my art and prints. I look forward to seeing it all come together the day of the show!
P.S. - Tickets are still available, you can get them here and save $5 up until the day before the show!
I'm excited to announce that I will be displaying some new work at the upcoming RAW artist event: TRANSLATIONS! There will be quite a selection of visual artists, performers and musicians, and this event is crowd-funded, meaning that ticket sales go directly to funding the event and supporting the artists involved. If you're in the St. Louis area, please consider buying a ticket and attending this party/gallery opening/concert event.
P.S. - You can see some photos from the last RAW event here.
